DESCRIPTION:

NorthwesternMutual Los Angeles is a Fortune 100 Company with expertise in helping clients achieve financial security. As the organization continues to be one of the fastest growing offices within the enterprise, we are seeking a motivated FinancialPlanning Service Associate to join the team.

The FinancialPlanning Service Associate works with financial representatives to deliver financial security to their clients through a comprehensive planning processthat integrates risk and investment products. Associate will help financial representatives increase productivity byproviding planning and integrated operations support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Representative Training and Development

  • Promotes, utilizes, and reinforces NorthwesternMutual planning culture, process, and tools
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer oninvestment concepts, suitability, and product options
  • Monitors and reinforces representative adherencewith network office’s business guidelines
  • Meet with rep to discuss proposal, analysis,method, opinion and discuss all assumptions
  • Provide coaching for representative in thepresentation of investment cases and the handling of objections from clients
  • Identify potential opportunities and constraintsand assess information to formulate strategies
  • Craft financial security solution(s) accuratelyand in the best interest of clients
  • Share recommendations with representatives andcoach to the delivery of a successful client presentation
  • Identify and inform representatives of taxconsequences, costs, and applicable breakpoint information (e.g. sales charges,surrender charges, account transfer fees)

Proposal and Case Preparation

  • PreparePersonal Planning Analysis (PPA)
  • PrepareEnvestnet/ENV2 proposal for Advisory clients
  • PrepareMorningstar Analysis
  • Recommendfund portfolio options
  • Gatherinformation for registered representative’s meeting with client/prospect (e.g.Investment Proposals, Morningstar reports, and New Account Paperwork)
  • Preparematerials for quarterly and annual reviews: investment summary, consolidatedinvestment reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5years of financial services experience (preferably as an investment salesproducer)
  • Experiencein utilizing a planning process or methodology
  • FINRASeries 7 license
  • Lifeinsurance license, preferable
  • Experiencewith both brokerage and advisory platforms
  • Cleancompliance record and background check as determined by home office
  • Committedto professional development (e.g. CLU, ChFC, CFP)
  • Bachelor’sDegree in business, finance and/or related field
  • Stronganalytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills, withthe ability to work well with others
